Pet Adoption

Animal Assited Therapies (AAT) is recognized by the federal Veterans Administration as a viable and effective means of improving a veterans quality of life.  Dog owners have been shown to exercise more and to have lower cardiac disease risk.  Cat ownership has been proven to result in a 30% reduction in the risk of fatal heart attack.

The LC VSC offers subsidized ways of adopting a dog from the Lucas County Canine Care & Control (LC4) and a cat from Paws & Whiskers non-profit cat adoption center.  Operations “Dogtags for Dogtags” and “Cat Connect” are our programs.

Visit our office at 2555 Arlington Ave. in Toledo to obtain your voucher for a pet adoption.  Then take the voucher to one of our partners to complete the adoption of a dog from LC4 or a cat from P&W.  Be sure to bring proof of your veterans status.

Team RWB - Toledo Chapter

Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) is America’s health and wellness community for Veterans.

We were founded by Veterans. We know firsthand that many of us carry a mission-first mindset from our service, often neglecting our own health in the process.

That’s why, since 2010, our community of over 250,000 Veterans, Service Members, military families, and supporters (our “Eagles”) have enriched the lives of Veterans through events and programs focused on building a healthy lifestyle.

Communicating our local events can be done through the link below but our organization can be best and most fully accessed using our cell phone app.
